Gondwana Canyon Roadhouse Campsite offers immersive camping in Namibia, located in a dry riverbed and surrounded by the rugged beauty of Fish River Canyon. This unique campsite combines the raw charm of the desert landscape with practical comforts, making it an excellent base for exploring the iconic canyon.
The campsite features 12 spacious camping spots, each equipped with a power outlet and shared ablution facilities. Designed for up to six people per site, each can accommodate one caravan or two vehicles. Shaded by trees, the sites also include a barbecue area, hot and cold water access, and nearby firewood for purchase.
Setting Description
Located within the Gondwana Canyon Park, the campsite is a serene escape surrounded by the arid beauty of southern Namibia. The rugged terrain and striking landscapes offer a true wilderness experience near the iconic Fish River Canyon, one of Africa's largest natural wonders. The setting is ideal for appreciating the area’s unique geological formations and native flora and fauna.
Visitors can embark on guided excursions such as sunrise walks or sunset drives to explore the Gondwana Canyon Park and learn about its ecology. Perfect Spot to Camp!
Perfect spot to camp. They have made a very nice spot in the desert. The atmosphere is awesome, nicely decorated property with old cars, vans, gasoline fueling stuff etc

Top place to camp! Clean ablusions, clearly marked campsites, beautiful lookout point, there is a nice bar, wifi, swimming pool and lots of old cars. Very helpful and friendly staff. We will book this place any time in future.

How to get there
From Windhoek
Follow the B1 in the direction of Keetmanshoop. At Keetmanshoop turn on to the B4 in the direction of Luderitz. After approximatly 32 km turn left on to the D545 (Naute Dam), follow this road till you reach the Tjunction and turn left on to the C12 for about 40km. From here the Canyon Lodges are well sign posted.
From South Africa
Coming from Karasburg B3 or from Noordoewer B1 in the direction of Grunau. Take the C12 from Grunau for approximately 51km. Then take the C37 and the Canyon lodges are well sign posted from this point. Alternativley, take the C10 from the B1 for approximately 28km and then the C37. The lodges are well sign posted from here.
